Desjardins Group is the largest cooperative financial group in North America, with assets approaching 400 billion Canadian dollars. In recent years, the Group has initiated various projects aimed at enhancing IT security. These include the funding of three Research Chairs: a Research Chair in Cybercrime Prevention at the Université de Montréal, a Research Chair in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence at Polytechnique Montréal, and the current initiative at UQAC. To oversee the implementation of integrated, cross-functional security strategies in collaboration with business sectors and support functions, Desjardins Group has established a Security Office. The primary goal of this office is to fortify the protection of members and customers, along with their assets and personal information.

Cybereco was founded in 2018 as the union of four major companies: Desjardins, National Bank, Deloitte and Groupe RHEA. Several new members have joined the ranks of Cybereco: Polytechnique de Montréal, IBM, Université de Sherbrooke, Concordia University, Industrielle Alliance, Hydro Québec, Terranova Security, Qohash, Université de Montréal, Fasken, Mondata, KPMG and BDC. The group’s mission is to share resources, expertise and collaborate to accelerate the development of a world-class workforce and effective technological solutions for a prosperous and secure economy.
